The Shire of Sandstone is seeking the services of a suitably experienced Deputy Chief Executive Officer
This is a full time, permanent position based in Sandstone Western Australia. As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you will assist the CEO in overall corporate responsibility for the organisation. You will have excellent communication skills, help to foster a customer service focus, a positive team culture, a cohesive relationship with the Council and the community and a basis for efficient planning and delivery of services provided by the organisation. You will take responsibility for the control and management of some projects and support the accountant and CEO in the financial management of the Shire.
Having excellent knowledge of the broad workings of local government is essential as will having worked within a senior management capacity in local government. Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly valued. Practical knowledge of the outside operations of a small, remote Shire, including but not limited to parks and gardens, road construction and maintenance, waste management and project management will be highly valued.
The successful applicant will negotiate a performance based 3 or 5-year contract which includes an attractive remuneration package negotiable up to $203,575.00 which includes a negotiable cash component plus five weeks annual leave, up to 17.5% superannuation (conditional), unrestricted use of a motor vehicle and rent-free housing and subsidised utilities.

The Shire of Sandstone is seeking two people to work in Sandstone 500 kilometres east of Geraldton and 700 kilometres north of Perth
Staff Wanted – Well Presented – Friendly - Industrious
We are seeking two seasonal workers for the following Shire facilities:
15 March 2025 – 6 April 2025 - Operate a small café – 2 people – 5 days per week – 7am to 2pm
7th April – end of October - Assist in Operating a small café -1 person – 5 days per week – 7am to 2pm
7th April – end of October - Operate a Visitors Centre - 1 person – 5 Days per week 9am to 4pm
Must have approval to work in Australia
Accommodation provided
$30 per hour + 20% casual loading +11.5% superannuation
